Question

Error Message: "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"

Answer

This error message will appear for several different types of problems.

Advisee Listing Reports:
1. You must be on campus or have VPN connectivity to run these reports.
2. This is because the data is sensitive and secured from off campus view.
3. IE is the recommended browser because we have found that Firefox and Safari sometimes have issues. As soon we know how to fix these issues, we will post a response.

Personal or Student & Financial Aid links:
If this occurs when the user clicks on the "Personal Information" or "Student & Financial Aid" link inside of the Academic Services/Banner Services screens, then it is most likely  that this is the result of a firewall setting that is blocking outbound/outgoing traffic for non-standard ports.

If this occurs at home, work or another organization outside of the university, a firewall adjustment likely needs to be made.

The firewall should be set to allow outbound/outgoing traffic on port 9050 to 152.18.68.40

If necessary, please have the organization's network administrator contact someone in ITS - Administrative Information Systems for futher details.
