When the user runs a Banner job and saves the output to a text file via IE, the following error message is in the text file instead of the output content: To fix this problem: Open IE Click Tools Click Internet Options... Go to the "Browsing History" section Click Settings Select "Automatically" Click OK Click OK again Try again to save the output and the problem should be resolved.
Reason: Oracle jinitiator is at the wrong version or is having an issue. Solution: Reinstall Oracle jinitiator by doing the following: click start click control panel click add/remove programs scroll down to oracle jinitiator click remove restart computer go to banner and when it first starts to come up, click the yellow active x bar at the top of your screen to allow the new oracle jinitator to be installed on your computer. 99% of the time, the "reference memory" error caused by IE when accessing Banner is due to a third-party browser extension (i.e. Google or Yahoo Toolbar).  This problem can be quickly solved by doing the following: If using IE7: Open Internet Explorer (IE) click Tools click Internet Options click on the Advanced Tab go to the settings box scroll down until you find "Enable third-party browser extensions*" uncheck the checkbox Restart IE and test the connection to Banner again. Access to SSB (Self-Service Banner) is now obtained via a user's OnePort account, as follows: Log into your OnePort account Click on the Employee tab Click on " Click here to: " under Employee Services Click on " Click here to continue..." under Banner Services Click on desired category in list provided     [Example:   If the user wishes to access the Financial data on Banner (purchase orders, budgets, etc.), he/she would click on Finance , and would then get a list of selections he/she is authorized to access ]

This issue is still being investigated, but possible resolutions are listed below: To set the screen size on a Mac, perform the following steps: 1. Click on the System Preferences icon on the Dock. 2. Click the Displays icon. 3. Select the desired resolution - 1024 X 768. 4. Close the System Preferences Window. There is also a known issue with Banner 7 (this may apply to Banner 8 as well) and fonts rendering smaller on the Mac than on Windows. The following solution will fix the majority of these issues: open IE click tools click Internet Options select the Security tab click Trusted sites click the Sites button uncheck the box for "Require Server verification(https)..." enter *.unca.edu click Add click Close click OK Warning: You should never be prompted for a username or pin to access banner ssb from OnePort unless there is a problem. If you repeatedly attempt to enter a username and pin, your banner ssb account will lock and you will need to contact the ITS helpdesk.
